Whoah.. that was a long week. I didn't think it would be 2 months before I posted anything else on here! Things are keeping busy at the Schroeder house. Here are some more Pictures of our bathroom project, which is all but completed now. We haven't really worked on it for a while as all that's left is the door and trim. We're planning to wait until the new Home Depot in Manhattan opens so we can go there and buy some trim. I'm actually starting to like using a sheet as a door, though.

I will probably be using this web site to learn some technologies like PHP & MySQL for databases. My idea for the site design is basically a journal format where either Andra or I can get on whenever we feel like it and add a "What's Happening" entry along with any relevant pictures. We're pretty busy at the moment, though, so I will probably not even start to get that all set up for another couple of months. For now I will try to get some pictures of our current bathroom project posted. If you check back near the end of this year, the site may look a lot different!

Background

This website really comes from Andra & I talking about how to distribute pictures to our family and friends once we start having kids. We had purchased a digital camera shortly before we got married and have since collected well over 1,000 digital pictures on our computer. We've received e-mails from a lot of people containing picture attachments, but those can quickly get preetty large and take a long time to dowload over a modem. So I thought a great alternative would be just to have our own web page where we could post pictures. And since domains are only about $12 / year, I figured, "why not just have our own domain to boot?". So on October 2nd, 2002 we bought schroederfamily.net and changed our e-mail addresses to andra@schroederfamily.net and aaron@schroederfamily.net.
